Booking an appointment
By booking an appointment with Mucky Paws, you have agreed to and have acknowledged our terms of service, including our cancellation policy and our non-refundable deposit.
To secure your preferred appointment slot, Mucky Paws requires confirmation on the same day (ASAP) as your enquiry.
Unconfirmed appointments may be released and offered to other clients.
Prices
Mucky Paws grooming fees are calculated based on the unique coat type and size of your dog.
Our prices reflect the time, dedication, expert attention and skill required to ensure your dog receives the highest standard of grooming.
Please note that additional charges will be applied for matted fur, knots, fleas and ticks.
Non-refundable Deposit
Mucky Paws requires a non-refundable deposit of £20
Your deposit can either be rolled over to your next appointment or redeemed at the end of the groom. Should this be the case, a new deposit will be required for your next booking.
Cancellation Policy & Charges
Mucky Paws understands that plans and circumstances can change unexpectedly.
If this happens, we kindly ask that you provide us with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your grooming appointment.

Mucky Paws appointments are tightly scheduled to ensure timely service for all our customers.
If you arrive late by 15 minutes or more, your appointment will automatically be cancelled.
In this instance, your deposit will be retained, and an additional fee equivalent to half the full cost of your dog’s groom will be charged.
Terms of Service & Additional Info
While at Mucky Paws, your dog’s needs are our top priority. We follow the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Act 2006, promising that every dog receives the highest standard of care during their grooming session.
Mucky Paws has the right to refuse dog grooming services to any dog, at any time for any reason, which includes but is not limited to aggressive behaviour, health concerns (such as fleas or ticks), or if the dog’s coat is excessively matted that it requires veterinary intervention.
Your Mucky Paws groomer has the right to stop the service at any time if the dog becomes too aggressive or if unforeseen issues arise, charging for the work already done. They can only do what your dog allows us to do.
A soft muzzle may be used during the grooming session, for safety if necessary. We kindly ask that owners disclose any history of biting or anxiety that could manifest as aggressive behaviour prior to the appointment.
Mucky Paws is unable to accommodate grooming appointments for pregnant dogs.
Please inform us if your dog is in season. Due to the sensitivity of the hygiene area, special grooming adaptations can be made to ensure the comfort of your dog.
To ensure your dog’s comfort, we kindly ask that you do not feed your dog within the hour before your appointment. Grooming on a full stomach can lead to discomfort or digestive issues, and we want your dog’s experience to be as pleasant as possible while with Mucky Paws.
Mucky Paws recommends that your dog has relieved themselves (wee and poo) before coming their appointment. This helps maximize your dog's comfort during the groom and minimizes any anxiety they may have before the grooming process begins.
Mucky Paws also recommends a little extra playtime or a good walk before coming in for your appointment. This can help your dog use up excess energy, which often makes for a smoother and more relaxed grooming session.
Allergies
Mucky Paws asks that you let us know (before the appointment) if your dog has any allergies or sensitivities to specific grooming products or ingredients. This is so we can provide and use a suitable alternative. Or if the owner prefers, they can provide their own suitable products.
Mucky Paws cannot be held liable for allergic reactions that occur, if allergy information is not provided to us in advance.
Your input helps us choose the right products and minimize allergy risks. Mucky Paws values your cooperation and always puts the wellbeing and safety of your dog first.
Matted Fur
Matted fur is not just a cosmetic issue; it poses significant health risks and can cause severe pain for dogs.
Dense clumps of hair and knots create a “living blanket” that pulls tightly on the dog’s skin and can lead to a variety of medical issues.
We understand that maintaining your dog’s coat can be challenging, and that matting sometimes happens unintentionally.
Mucky Paws are here to help and educate owners, without shaming them.
Our priority is to ensure your dog is as comfortable as possible during careful dematting or a humane shave-down.
Mucky Paws will inform you in advance if your dog requires shaving.
A matting fee will be applied to the total cost of your dogs’ groom. This will be reflective of the condition of your dog’s coat, and the time it takes to complete the groom.
Puppy Grooming
Depending on your puppy’s unique coat and breed, Mucky Paws recommends keeping up with regular grooming sessions to ensure a healthy coat is maintained.
Mucky Paws recommends that you start your puppy’s grooming experience at around 16 weeks, and you will need to ensure that your puppy is fully vaccinated first.
